Oujyou-Gokuraku-In
Known for one of the five biggest division of Tendai Sec. The beginning of the temple goes back to when Saicho constructed a chapel at Touto Minamidani when he constructed his own tea hut at the Heizan mountain. The main hall and the Oujyou-Gokuraku-In has a large repair during the Edo periond but the chancel is still kept in condition of old style. The curved shaped Funazoko ceiling is famous for the painted Raigeizu of Nijyuugo Bosatsu. There are also Amida-Nyorai-Zou and three seated figures in the hall too.

In the temple ground which nicely uses the landscapes, there are guest house and shin-den which were allegedly made by Hideyoshi Toyotomi. The two beautiful gardens are called Yushi-en and Shuheki-en. It is wonderful to see the colorful leaves in red or orange fallen on the moss covering the grounds. You might be impressed deeply to see the red leaves surrounding above your head under the tunnel of maple in front of the temple gate.
