Arashiyama Mountain

Arashi-yama is located western side of Kyoto, surrounding Togetsu-kyo which means ‘moon crossing bridge. This place is designated as national historical landmark and scenic spot.
 
Cherry blossoms in spring, maple trees in autumn. It changes its face according to seasons. For that reason this is regarded as perfect place for Hanami which is general Japanese custom, enjoying cherry blossoms in spring.
 
Also Arashi-yama is well known as the end of Hozuriver.
 
Part of river including Togetsu-kyo is called Oiriver. The down part of river is called Katsura.
 
It may seem wooden bridge, but actually it is made from reinforced concrete in order to make cars possible to cross the bridge.
 
You may see man-pulled cars going around and lots of souvenir shops are welcoming visitors along the river. This place is also one of hot tourism spot.

Approx. 15 minutes drive from the Mizukake Interchange of Kyoto Jyukan-do Expressway
