At the old Machiya house in Nishiki

KITAO started its business as a shop which sells Kuromame(simmered black beans) and Azuki-beans(red beans) in 1862 in Tambaguchi area where special local products from Tamba and Kyoto meet.
Since then, KITAO has supported cuisine of Kyoto by selling sugar, black beans and red beans from Tamba. They have been the best in quality for over 150 years.
You can taste your fill of their high-quality products at KUROMAME SA-AN KITAO in Nishiki Market and Gion area. Both areas are also popular as tourist attractions.

KITAO Nishiki Shop is located in the Nishiki Market. This shop is the old Machiya-Style house, and you can see the traditional wooden house of Kyoto. Come and see it!
